Website Evaluation

 Evaluation:

Content:

Website features small paragraphs of information making it easy to read. Information is relevant and appears up to date.

Layout:

The layout of this website is terrible considering its purpose. Although clear and relatively easy to navigate, the use of repetitive flashing images, unnecessary link images embedded within the main body of the text and links to pages with no information give this website an amateurish feel. The text does not fit the page when fully expanded making user have to scoll sideways whilst reading.

Speed:

Website loaded within a few seconds and all of the images appeared correctly.

  1. I agree with you that for a web site which is supposed to be promoting good design it fails miserably.

I particularly dislike the use of moving images which are considered to be a real turn off and have been since about 1996 (see http://www.useit.com/alertbox/9605a.html section 3)

  2. [...] Ross’ site from a web design company (though you might not think it is one!!) [...]

  3. have you noticed there is cyan-pink and pink-cyan why are they different names it makes little sense the navigation is not the same thoroughout the site changes apperance on some links and the navigation bar swaps sides from time to time left right left right. I totally agree with the ‘amaturish feel’ comment the back ground and flashing titles look extremly dated. the site seems very basic and has little to offer apart from the main page although the feedback and info request pages with forms seems a good touch. yeah poor site seeing as its advertising itself.

  4. God i hate those flashing titles.

“When we undertake a project, our prime concern is to deliver exactly what you have specified”

Maybe they specified it to be this bad ;) – Their sister company appears SLIGHTLY better, still not money worthy.
