Activity 602: Details of my assignment

I have chosen the three types of user that for my assignment website to accommodate:

  • A Standard User (size 12pt font, standard colour scheme)
  • A User With Reading Difficulties (Larger font size, Standard HTML for screen readers, colour scheme to make to text as readable as possible)
  • A User Requiring a Printable Version of the Site (standard font, no colour or images, to fit one A4 page)

For my assignment I intended to use standard HTML styled with CSS style sheets. I will also be using Java-Script to change between stylesheets.

By doing these two activities I have learned more about applying XSL style sheet to an XML page such as using headers and footers, headers and adding images using only the style sheet.

After completing the XSLT workbook, I have learnt how to:

  • Create and apply XSL style sheets to XML pages
  •  Format XML pages with different styles
  • Use multiple XSL sheets on one XML page

By doing these two activities I have how to; attach a XSL style sheet to an XML page, produce a header and footer using only XSL and a contents page using only XSL.
